Intro: Frank Questions Deserve Straight Answers

As the modern Church faces increasing claims of spiritual authority, submission demands, and hierarchical ministry systems, it is vital to ask: What did Jesus really establish?
What did the First Church practice, and how can we separate apostolic truth from man-made tradition?

This article addresses eight core questions from a biblical, Greek- and Aramaic-informed perspective, aiming to return us to the simplicity and depth of New Testament Christianity.

1. Did Jesus Appoint One Apostle Over All Others?

No. Jesus is the only Head of the Church.

“And He put all things under His feet and gave Him to be head over all things to the church.”Paul Ephesians 1:22-23

Greek word for “head”: kephalē (κεφαλή) — not just a title, but a source of life and direction.
Nowhere did Jesus refer to Peter, Paul, or anyone as kephalē over others.

At the Jerusalem Council (Acts 15), it was James (Jesus’ brother, not an apostle) who gave the final word—not Peter. Authority was shared, discussed, and Spirit-led, not top-down

2. Did Jesus Leave One “Style” of Christian 5 Fold Ministry in Charge of all the rest of the apostles, office ministers, elders, lay?

No. He left a fivefold variety (Ephesians 4:11), not one superior method.

“There are different kinds of gifts… different kinds of service… different kinds of working.” — (non word curse Paul) 1 Corinthians 12:4-6

Greek word for “ministries”: diakoniai (διακονίαι) — varied, servant-like functions, not religious castes.

Paul, Priscilla, Aquila, Timothy, and others ministered in unique formats: house churches, synagogues, open-air teaching. There was no mandated “style”—just obedience to the Spirit.

3. What About Modern Groups That Demand Submission?

Biblical submission is mutual, not enforced.

“Mutual submission in the fear of the Lord” KJV

Other: “Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.”
Ephesians 5:21

The word for submit: Greek: hupotassō (ὑποτάσσω)a voluntary yielding in love, not blind obedience.
It’s never used for pastors or apostles commanding submission from laypeople or other ministers.

Paul never said, “Submit to me as an apostle.” He appealed in love (Philemon 1:9), not in control.

4. Must All Christian Women Submit to All Christian Men or Leaders?

No. Nowhere does the Bible teach this.

“Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord.”
Ephesians 5:22

TAVEAU’S MAIN TALKING POINT

The Greek for “own” is idiois (ἰδίοις) — specific to one’s own spouse, not generalized to all men.
Women in Scripture were apostles (Junia – Romans 16:7), prophets (Acts 21:9), and leaders (Phoebe – Romans 16:1). Jesus affirmed women in ministry, not a male-dominant caste.

5. Is There a Biblical Doctrine of “Spiritual Covering”?

Not in the way it is often taught.

The modern use of “covering” as spiritual hierarchy is not found in the New Testament.

Jesus is our ultimate intercessor and high priest:

“There is one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus.”
1 Timothy 2:5

In Hebrew/Aramaic thought, “covering” (kaphar, כָּפַר) is associated with atonement, not authority.
It means to make peace, to reconcile, not to dominate or protect by hierarchy.

6. BEING VIEWED BY CRITICAL LEADERSHIP OF BEING “IN  SUBMISSION”

Did Jesus or the First Church teach that ALL single adults (women or men) must be “under” or “submitted to” a local pastor to be in order or “covered”?

 Short Answer: No.

There is no command in the New Testament that unmarried adults—whether never married, widowed, or divorced—must submit to or be “covered” by a local pastor in order to be in spiritual order.

 What the Bible Actually Teaches:

++ Jesus is the Only Covering (Head) for All Believers

“Christ is the head of every man…” (1 Corinthians 11:3)

“And He put all things under His feet and gave Him to be head over all things to the church.” (Ephesians 1:22)

++ There is no other “spiritual covering”** required—Jesus alone is the authority and protector of every believer. (**head covering is not what we’re “covering” (teaching) here. that is back under the OT Law, however, it’s YOUR option)

7. Mega Point
**“You, we need to teach “Submission” as Voluntary and Mutual (Not Control-Based)

“Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.” (Ephesians 5:21)
“Mutual submission in the fear of the Lord ” KJV

The early church promoted mutual respect and servant leadership, not top-down domination or enforced spiritual hierarchy over personal life.

3. Single Adults, Single Parents, Divorced, Widowed  Are Free in the Lord

Paul writes that singles can serve the Lord without distraction (1 Corinthians 7:32-35).

He never says they must be under a local pastor or man to be “in order.”

8. TD Notes:

Paul himself was single. He didn’t submit to one local pastor—his accountability was to God and the wider body of mature leaders when needed (Galatians 2:1-2).

Note:  No Age Restriction Teaching Exists in the NT

There is no verse saying that once a person turns 18 or 21, they must submit to a male pastor or become “covered.” This is a man-made doctrine, not a Jesus-made one

9. What About the Abuse Today?

(Eli, 1 Samuel 2–4)

The story of Eli is a tragic picture of a priestly system that tolerated abuse—his sons were corrupt and mistreated the people. God judged that system and raised up Samuel, who listened directly to the Lord.

This shows that just because someone is in a “priestly office” doesn’t mean they are right—God raises up those who seek Him sincerely, even young and without human endorsement (like David, like Mary, like Samuel).

Abuse Today: Where It Goes Wrong

When churches or leaders say things like:

  • “You’re in rebellion if you’re not under a pastor”

  • “You’re uncovered if you’re single”

  • “You’re in danger without a spiritual father/pastor”

  • “You can’t move in ministry unless you’re under authority”

Those are extra-biblical control tactics. They resemble Pharisaical legalism or cult-like covering doctrine, not true New Testament Christianity.

Q.  What IS Biblical?

  • Voluntary community and wise spiritual relationships

  • Accountability among peers and elders—but with respect

  • Hearing God personally and using His Word as the guide

  • Freedom to walk with God as Paul, Lydia, Anna the prophetess, and others did—without “spiritual handlers”

Bottom Line:

No, the First Church did not demand submission of all single adults to local pastors.

Jesus calls us to First Love, personal responsibility, and mutual respect—not fear-based control, unbiblical covering, or top-down domination of single women or men.

10. MARRIED WOMEN

Q Are Married Women “Covered” by Their Pastor?

No.

A pastor may shepherd, not cover or replace the husband’s role.

KEY TRAINING POINT:
“The husband is the head of the wife…”
Ephesians 5:23

Greek: kephalē again — source of nurture, not ruler.
Pastors are not “surrogate husbands.” They serve under Christ and equip, not dominate.

We make note:

  • Biblically, a wife’s primary relationship is with her husband, not the pastor (Ephesians 5:22-33).

  • A pastor may offer pastoral care, not spiritual dominion.

  • There is no verse that says a married woman is “covered” by a pastor.

11. REQUIRED CHURCH ATTENDANCE, OFFICIAL CHURCH MEMBERSHIP

Q. Are Christians First Church ,In the Bible, commanded “required” (demanded) to Belong to a Fellowship and Never Visit Others?

The First Church valued community—but not control.

Clarify:  Did Jesus, Paul, or the First Church mandate that:

a) Each Christian must belong to a fellowship church?

Not explicitly. But community was expected.(key word “community” not “forced to” controlled or “shamed into being in a contributing ministry fellowship, church”

  • Christians gathered together (Acts 2:42), but not by coercion.

  • The NT warns against forsaking fellowship (Hebrews 10:25), but not rigid church membership rules.

b) That they attend faithfully?

Regular gathering was encouraged—but not for legalistic control. Faithful hearts, not forced bodies.

c) That they not visit or fellowship elsewhere? No such restriction exists.

  • Paul visited, encouraged, and planted many types of gatherings.

  • Accusations like “church hoppers” or “rebellious” often reflect modern control, not apostolic doctrine.

12. TD APOSTOLIC NOTE

  • Hebrews 10:25 encourages fellowship, but does not command church membership contracts.

  • Paul and others traveled, visited, and shared between fellowships. No one accused them of “church hopping.”

  • “You are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints.”
    Ephesians 2:19

Greek: paroikos (παροικος) — temporary resident, not institutionalized church member.

There is no NT command to only attend one church and be under one apostolic jurisdiction

13. FALSE OR TRUE?

Q .WHERE THERE,  AND ARE THERE “NOW” CERTAIN SPECIAL HOLY SPIRIT MOVING, “GOD APPOINTED APOSTLES” ” OVER ALL OF THE REST OF THE CHRISTIAN OFFICE MINISTERS, ELDERS, LAY?”

Q. Were, are there still,  elite “more inner gifted and aware” superior call” as “The God Called Chief Apostles Who Govern Regions or Nations?

No apostles were ever called “rulers” or city-state governors.

Q. Modern Christians: Were there any apostles or prophets who “knew more” and were placed over the rest (e.g., ‘apostles at the gates of the city’)?

Not in a controlling, ruling sense.

  • Some apostles had greater reach or influence, but never lorded over others (1 Peter 5:2-3).

  • The “apostles at the gates” idea is not in Scripture, but a modern invention.

  • God gave wisdom and assignments by calling and grace, not by city-based politics.

Note:

The idea of “apostles at the gates” stems from Old Testament metaphors, not New Testament offices.

“You are fellow workers, but God gives the growth.”
1 Corinthians 3:6-9

Paul rejected status wars among leaders: “Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you?” (1 Corinthians 1:13)

Greek: archōn (ἄρχων) — ruler. Never used for apostles.

Note: First Church “organic’ Apostles were sent ones (apostolos, ἀπόστολος), not seated ones

 Conclusion: Christ, Not Control

Jesus never set up a chain of command. He set up a Body, with Himself as the Head, and many unique parts working in love.

We must reject:

  • authoritarian “covering” systems,

  • gender-based spiritual hierarchy,

  • unbiblical submission doctrines,

  • and elitist apostolic exclusivism.

Instead, we embrace the Acts community model—organic, Spirit-led, servant-hearted, and full of grace

“Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”
2 Corinthians 3:17

In Summary:

  • Jesus left no one in charge but Himself as Head.

  • The NT Church was diverse, collaborative, and Spirit-led, not hierarchical.

  • Submission is mutual, never forced.

  • Women and men both served and led.

  • There is no such thing as a spiritual covering requirement in the Bible.

  • Legalistic attendance, territorial spirit, or elitist apostolic claims are not biblical norms.

14. EPHESIANS 5:21 “Mutual Submission ” (A Perspective of)

  • and mutually accountable (Galatians 2:11, Acts 15).

AT CROSS BODY UNITY : This is what Sister Taveau Believes

IDENTITY:
WHO IS APOSTLE, SR OFFICE PASTOR, SERVANT FOUNDER CROSS BODY UNITY MOVEMENT, DFW LEADER MINISTRY FELLOWSHIP, SELF GOVERNING TCL

Sister Taveau: A Pauline Servant Apostle

Sister Taveau is a Pauline servant apostle, called to train and equip the ministry leader Body as a “sent messenger” in the spirit of Galatians 1:1–2—“not sent out by any one person or group”—in order to remain impartial and to build bridges of unity. Her mission is to collaborate toward a transformed, pure, diverse, cross-cultural (mind-our-own-business) community, with no big I’s or little you’s.

The use of the term apostle is intentionally lowercase, as was Paul’s, just like every other office: bishop, prophet, pastor, teacher. This reflects the biblical model of the servant leader, not a superstar or elite. Though there may be elevation for Kingdom influence, Paul himself described his own role with humility—as the “offscouring, dung of the world.”

This is the essence of the Cross Body Unity International Movement, also known as EORR: Equal Opportunity REAL RESPECT—for the office of every human made in God’s image. It is a non-legalistic, servant-leader approach in the spirit of Deborah’s office, for such a time as this.

Sister Taveau functions in all fivefold ministry senior offices and is submitted to all Christian governing top leaders according to Ephesians 5:21. She is currently serving as a top ministry leader resource, offering hope and a new perspective, while building a large, pure servant-office community network, which will host Fall gatherings as the Lord allows.

This movement does not require membership—the key is simply: either sent or not sent. One may visit, but there is no pressure to join. Each person is encouraged to hear God for themselves and to balance all things with His Holy Word.

This is a movement focused on First Love and respectful relationship, not dogma, not Bible-thumping, and certainly not authoritarian “top-down” control as is often common.

THE A.R.T. Relationship REAL RESPECT New Christian Ministry, Leader, Lay Perspective
