Intro:
Throughout history, the supernatural God has always moved—through burning bushes, parted seas, the resurrection, and now through the living Church.
But what is this power? What is His voice? And is it still active today?
Let’s dig deep through the full Scripture—Old and New—and the Hebrew and Greek layers behind the power of God.
1. Creator God: Power from the Beginning
Genesis 1:1 (KJV):
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”
Hebrew – “bara” means to create out of nothing—raw, divine creative authority.
2. Burden-Breaking Power of the Anointing
Isaiah 10:27 (KJV):
“And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.”
Isaiah 10:27 (ESV):
“And in that day his burden will depart from your shoulder, and his yoke from your neck; and the yoke will be broken because of the fat.”
(“Fat” represents richness—symbolic of the anointing oil.)
Hebrew: “shemen” = oil, anointing, power that breaks yokes.
3. The Seven Spirits of the Lord
Isaiah 11:2–3 (KJV):
“And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;
And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD…”
ESV:
“…the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.
And his delight shall be in the fear of the Lord…”
Sevenfold Spirit = The fullness of God’s character and power.
4. Resurrection Power Lives in You
Romans 8:11 (KJV):
“But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”
ESV:
“If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he… will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.”
Greek: “zōopoieō” — to make alive, revive, resurrect.
5. Speak Life Like God
Romans 4:17 (KJV):
“…even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.”
ESV:
“…the God in whom he believed, who gives life to the dead and calls into existence the things that do not exist.”
This is not just poetic—it’s how God works, and now how faith works in us.
6. Divine Revelation: Past, Present, and Future
Daniel 2:28 (KJV):
“But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets…”
ESV:
“But there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries…”
1 Corinthians 2:9–10 (KJV):
“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard… but God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit.”
ESV:
“…these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.”
Greek: “apokalyptō” — to unveil, expose truth, disclose divine insight.
7. Jesus: The Power and Wisdom of God
1 Corinthians 1:24 (KJV):
“…Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.”
ESV:
“…Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.”
Miracles are not just events—they’re a Person. Jesus is the miracle.
8. The Spirit Guides Into Truth
John 16:13 (KJV):
“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth… and he will shew you things to come.”
ESV:
“…he will guide you into all the truth… and he will declare to you the things that are to come.”
9. God Invites You to Ask for Revelation
Jeremiah 33:3 (KJV):
“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”
ESV:
“Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.”
10. Know the Word and the Power
Matthew 22:29 (KJV):
“Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.”
ESV:
“You are wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God.”
Conclusion:
From creation to the cross to the Church, God’s supernatural power flows through those who believe.
He still calls.
He still reveals.
He still moves.
And He still anoints those bold enough to ask big questions.
